India is one of the largest social media populations on earth and owns almost none of the infrastructure it runs on. The feeds are ranked elsewhere, the moderation policy is written elsewhere, and the data sits on servers governed by somebody else’s law. That is not a conspiracy — it is just what happens when nobody local builds the alternative.

So we built one. Fifefy is a full social platform — posts, replies, polls, 24-hour stories, vertical short video, chat, notifications, search — engineered in Indore and hosted in India. It is live today and free to join.

We did it in that order deliberately. A small team started building in early 2025, with no company behind it and nothing to point at but the work. CodeThread Solutions Pvt Ltd was incorporated on 9 December 2025, once there was a product worth putting a company around. We would rather have earned the letterhead than started with one.

We didn’t want to ship a clone with a tricolour on it, though. The interesting question was what a social app looks like if you don’t inherit the last decade’s assumptions. Our answer was to make approval scarce: five Hi-Fives a day, permanent, no undo. And to rank by city before ranking by world, because what is happening in your Indore or your Kochi matters more to you than what is trending globally.

Alongside the product, a small part of the team works on vision-based navigation for autonomous systems. It is genuinely research — a prototype, not a product line — and we keep it clearly separated from the consumer work.
